BOOKSHOP BUSINESS? I used to have a dream to own a bookshop. When I woke up, the dream just evaporated into this air. Why? I have better chance to make money selling nasi lemak and teh tarik in BB Bangi. For more info on Malaysia Book Industy Report, read the attached note below the photo. However, if you really want to go into this business,I recommend you start selling online. My friend made a sale more than RM1,000,000 last year. Start small, learn the ropes and connect to strategic partners like Kota Buku. For me, I will focus on my writing to share my knowledge and experience.  Selling? Let others do it.   Last weekend when I was having a drink with my fellow photograhers community at Makan Buzz, I saw a small kiosk manned by a famous local cartoonist Kulatt. His business is doing live caricatures for passers-by.  He did one for me. It costs RM15. While he was drawing me, we talked about art business. ONE PHOTO EVERY WEEK 16/52/2025- CAFE WITH CANOPY

ONE PHOTO EVERY WEEK 16/52/2025- CAFE WITH CANOPY WHY I love to eat/drinl inside a cafe with canopy? Sitting there watching the world goes by is my favourite pastime. It gives me the solitude to reflect and still belong to the streams lof lives passing throught the streets. I belong to the restaurant and as well as I belong to the street-enjoy both benefits at the same time. At the same time, the confortable location allow me to sit for hours, reading , talking and taking photos. What a life..Below, I share a few photos taken in Paris, KL and Daamsara. Cafés featuring veranda canopies offer a harmonious blend of indoor comfort and outdoor ambiance, creating inviting spaces that cater to both aesthetic appeal and functional needs. These designs are particularly well-suited to tropical climates like Malaysia’s, where protection from sun and rain is essential. Veranda Canopy Café? ONE PHOTO EVERY WEEK 15/52/2025- CAPTIVE MARKETS What is a captive market? A captive market refers to a scenario where consumers have limited or no alternatives and must purchase goods or services from a specific supplier. This could be due to geographic restrictions, exclusive contracts, or proprietary technology. Companies with a captive market often have greater pricing power. Let us give you three simple examples related to controlled locations: 1. Cafe and Sundry Shops at hospitals 2.Cafe and Sundry Shops at Railway and Bus Stations. 3. Cafe and Laundry Shops in University Campus. From my observations, the cafe and sundry shops selling the products needed by the specific customers are doing very well. Here is the important roles of entrepreneurs to indentify the problems and give solutions to the customers at affordable price. From my business coaching experience in Pahang, the Hospital Workers Co-operatives are given the right by hospital authorities to do business within hospit...
