ONE PHOTO EVERY WEEK 35/52/2025-UNFAIR ADVANTAGE

Where Are the English Muffins in Bandar Baru Bangi? I’ve always loved pairing my latte with cakes, pastries, or breads—but here in Bandar Baru Bangi, it’s surprisingly difficult to find something as simple and delightful as an English muffin. Despite the abundance of cafes, most of them seem to offer the same or very similar selections of desserts and pastries. The only real distinction often comes from their coffee beans and brewing methods. One standout exception is Gabrielle, which manages to offer a slightly better spread. But still, I can’t help but wonder: why aren’t cafes here introducing something truly unique? Imagine if each cafe had its own signature product—just like A&W, famous for its coney dogs and root beer. A distinct specialty not only gives customers a reason to come back, but also creates what I call an unfair advantage. If cafes in Bangi want to rise above the sea of sameness, they need to move beyond lattes and cheesecakes. Give us something memorable, somethi...

ONE PHOTO EVERY WEEK 34/52/2025-BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

The art of identifying business opportunities is the ability to recognize unmet needs, hidden gaps, and emerging possibilities in the market and translate them into viable products, services, or ventures. It is not merely a science of market research or data analysis, but also an art—requiring intuition, creativity, and foresight. Here are some dimensions that make it an “art”: 1. Observation and Sensitivity    •   Like an artist who sees beauty in ordinary scenes, an entrepreneur notices patterns in everyday life—people’s frustrations, inefficiencies, or unspoken desires.    •   Example: Seeing long queues at food stalls and realizing the demand for faster, more convenient delivery services. 2. Connecting the Dots    •   Opportunities often emerge by combining unrelated ideas, industries, or technologies.    •   Example: Combining smartphones with GPS gave rise to ride-hailing apps like Grab and Uber. 3. Em...

ONE PHOTO EVERY WEEK 33/52/2025- CYCLIST CAFE

Here is my favourite restaurant by the lakeside of Putrajaya, where I pitstop during my cycling in Putrajaya. It is open to the public every day. It is a good place to hide from the maddening crowd and immerse yourself in reading book.

ONE PHOTO EVERY WEEK 32/52/2025- BACKLANE CAFE

I am very pleased to shared how a creative entrepreneur turn a dark alley with dead end into a sidewalk cafe only ten metrers away from the popular pedestrian traffic of Jalan Bukit Bintang. The decoration is superb with a few tables and chairs. It caters mainly for people on the go.

ONE PHOTO EVERY WEEK 30/52/2025- COCUNUT DRINK

This vibrant street scene near Pasar Seni in Kuala Lumpur showcases a young woman entrepreneur running a charming fresh coconut water kiosk. Her small business is not just about selling coconuts — it reflects thoughtful branding, customer experience, and a touch of tropical flair. Business Description: Coconut Water Kiosk This young lady appears to be running a pop-up coconut water stand, targeting tourists and urban explorers in one of KL’s most walkable, artsy districts. Her kiosk is simple but well-curated — suggesting a strong sense of design and street-level marketing. Setup Highlights:    •   Yellow and White Striped Umbrella: Eye-catching and cheerful, it offers shade while creating a bright, tropical atmosphere. It signals freshness and invites passersby.    •   Minimalist White Table with Clean Layout: The coconuts are neatly placed on a white tablecloth, giving a sense of hygiene and order. There are decorative touches like fresh orchids...

ONE PHOTO EVERY WEEK 29/52/2025- KOPI KITA

As for my Rule of Thumb, I refrain from eating lunch and dinner at the airport, unless I am willing to pay higher price for lousy food.Kopi Kita as shown above is an exception. It serves Malayian food and drinks ad reasonable price.  On one occassion, I bought a bottle of 600ml mineral water. IT costs me RM4.90. Outside it costs RM1.50.  Airport is a captive market where passengers are trapped for space and time. Techically and commercially, they become 'captives' by design. Last week, my AA flight got delayed by two and the half hours and re-scheduled three times. I hope the Authorities penalise any airlines that delay their scheduled departure by more than one hour.  How much? Just give us passengers free flight on the same route.
